"Dorothy B. DeHaven, 83, of 228 Bluffview Drive, died Tuesday evening at Moravian Manor, Lititz, after a brief illness. A homemaker, Mrs. DeHaven previously worked in the tabulating department at Armstrong World Industries. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. She was active in Town Club, serving as president for a year. She enjoyed playing golf and bridge, sewing, crafts, quilting and cross-stitching. A 1939 graduate of McCaskey High School, she was a volunteer candy-striper at Lancaster General Hospital during World War II. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Donald V. and Thelma Heiss Bletcher. She was married 59 years on Dec. 27 to J. William DeHaven. Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Leslie D., wife of Jerald Sheets of Birmingham, Mich.; a son J. William Jr., husband of Beth Ann Huber DeHaven of Ozark, Mo.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Ray Bletcher."
