Arbutus Beatrice Newberry McGhee, age 88, of Richlands, VA passed away Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Clinch Valley Medical Center. She was born October 20, 1931 in Russell County, VA and was the daughter of the late Andrew (A.D.) and Rosaley Plaster Newberry. She attended the Full Gospel Assembly Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Junior McGhee; children, Mary McGhee, Linda Mabe, and Jim McGhee; one brother, Dennis Newberry; two sisters, Arizona Allen and Bertha Newberry.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Patsy Shortt and husband Mark, David McGhee, and Donna Griffith and husband Dean; two sisters, Leona Campbell and Ellen Harman; five granddaughters, two grandsons, seven great-granddaughters, one great-grandson, four great-great granddaughters, one great-great grandson, one great grandchild on the way and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 7th at Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff, VA.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 12 noon Thursday, October 8th at the Singleton Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Otis Musick officiating. Burial will follow in the McGhee Cemetery on Horton Ridge. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
