RICHLANDS, Va. - Dennis Anderson Newberry, 72, of Richlands, passed away Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006 at his home following a lengthy illness.
Born March 20, 1934 in Russell County, Va., he was the son of the late Andrew D. and Rosaley Plaster Newberry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Bertha Newberry.
He is survived by four sisters, Arbutus McGhee of Richlands, Ellen Harman of Route 1, Raven, Va., Leona Campbell of Louisville, Ky., and Arizona Allen of Seaford, Del.; brother-in-law, Edwin Campbell; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, 2006 at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel at Cedar Bluff, Va. with the Rev. Otis Musick officiating. Burial will follow in the Newberry Cemetery at Horton Ridge, Va. Pallbearers will be Ralph Stilwell, Jack Richardson, Edwin Campbell, David McGhee, Mark Shortt and Jamie McGhee.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday (today) at Singleton Funeral Service at Cedar Bluff.
