Albert Bender
Services will be held at 9:30 am Saturday at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart, for Albert C. Bender, 81, Bay Town, Tex., formerly of Portage and Hebron area, who died Monday at Porter Memorial Hospital. Rites will be conducted 10:00 am Saturday at St. Bridget Catholic Church, Hobart, with the Rev. Joseph P. Casey, St. Helen's Catholic Church Hebron, officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Friends may call until 9 pm today at Rees Funeral Home, where the rosary will be recited at 8 pm tonight.
Bender retired in 1956 from the West Mills Divinsion of Gary Works. He was a World War I veteran and a former member of Local 1014, US Steelworkers.
Surviving are two brothers, Frank, Evansville, Wis., and Walter, Portage, and several neices and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
