Thelma M. Abbott Naylor, age 87, beloved wife of the late Ernest J. Naylor, died on Sunday, August 15, 2010 at the Baptist Home in Rhinebeck surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Poestenkill, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Alida Pitcher Abbott. She attended the Weather-wax School-house in Poestenkill. She was employed on the staff of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity at RPI for 25 years as a cook retiring in 1982. Mrs. Naylor was a member of the Third Presbyterian Church in Troy for over 50 years and was a member for many years of the Central Brunswick Grange.
She is survived by two daughters, Jane Allen of Milford, N.Y. and Diana (Frank) Gaetano of Pleasant Valley, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Cynthia A. Scramlin of Milford and Ronald Scramlin of Cherry Valley, N.Y. and a great- grandchild. She is predeceased by three sisters, Bessie Heffner, Dorothy Johnston and Frances Ryan and five brothers, George, Harvey, Waldo, Robert and Raymond Abbott. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be from the Thomas S. Connolly Funeral Home, 294 Whiteview Rd., Wynantskill on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. and at 10:30 a.m. at the Third Presbyterian Church, 113 Winter St., Troy with Rev. John McAuley, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, Colonie. Calling hours will be at the funeral home today from 4 to 7 p.m. Contributions to the Third Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 113 Winter St., Troy, NY 12180 in memory of Mrs. Naylor would be appreciated.
