Billy J. Blackburn, 73 of Lucasville, Ohio formerly of Canada, Ky. died Thursday, October 28, 2010 in Lucasville, Ohio.
He was born in Canada, June 19, 1937, the son of the late Paris and Thelma Spradlin Blackburn.
He was a retired barber.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Alva Gene Blackburn and Chester Ray Blackburn; and one sister, Clara Maynard.
He is survived by four sons; Alvin Blackburn of Harrisburg, Dwayne Blackburn of Spokane, Wash., Chris Blackburn of Jeffersonville, and Perry Blackburn of Mt. Sterling; two brothers, Roger Blackburn of Louisville, and Richard Blackburn of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three sisters, Ina Gay Thacker of Tuscon, Ariz., Flo Ann Ables of New Albany, Ind. and Sara Jane Hastings of Louisville, and eleven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Monday, November 1, 2010 at the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Johnny Jacobs and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackburn Family Cemetery, Canada, Ky. with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010 at the Funeral Home Chapel. R. E. Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry is in charge of arrangements.
