Raymond C. Wergin, 66, of 3917 Sunflower Ave., died Wednesday afternoon at St. Nicholas Hospital after a brief Illness.
He was born in Manitowoc Feb. 29, 1916, a son of the late Peter and Bernice Jaworski Wergin. Mr. Wergin graduated from Lincoln High School, Manitowoc.
On Feb. 14, 1942, he and the former Marie Martin were married In Sheboygan.
During World War II, Mr. Wergin served with the U.S. Army, in Europe. In 1945. he returned to Sheboygan. He formerly was owner-operator of Quality Metal Polishing Co. In 1962 the couple moved to Chicago, where Mr. Wergin was general foreman at Vance Industries. The Wergins returned to Sheboygan in October 1980, when illness forced his retirement.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Travelers Protective Association.
Surviving are his wife; three brothers, Francis of Sebastian, Fla., Daniel of Valders and Eugene, Manitowoc; and a sister, Mrs. Marcia Wilke of Manitowoc. He was preceded in death by one brother.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Ball-horn Funeral Chapels, wit!) the Rev. Harvey Krueger, pastor of Trinity Church, officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Friday and on Saturday until the time of service
