Charles Matthew Kirkwood, 89, of Decatur died 3:40 a.m. Monday (May 1, 2000) in Decatur Memorial Hospital. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Dawson &; Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home with visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association. Mr. Kirkwood was born May 16, 1910, in Decatur, the son of Matthew and Myrtle Kirkwood. He retired after 47 years of service from the Wabash and Norfolk & Western Railroads. He was a 50-year member of Grace United Methodist Church and a member of Wabash Fellowship Club. He leaves his loving wife; daughter and one sister.
