She was born in Cherryville, North Carolina to the late Jack Woodrow Moose, Sr. and Lona Mae Lawing Moose.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Evon Blair Houser who passed away in 1991; and her siblings, Nancy Cadieu, Kay Goodson, Raymond Moose and Jack W. Moose, Jr.

Betty grew up in Maiden, NC. Betty was a wonderful loving and caring mother for her sons. She lived at the ball field, served as a Cub Scout Leader and often worked behind the scenes. Betty was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time at the beach. She was a member of Holy Communion Lutheran Church. Betty retired from health care working as a Registered Nurse with Gaston Memorial Hospital and later with Emerald Health Care.

Survivors include her sons, Chris (Noreen) Houser, John (Anna) Houser and Evon Lee (Crystal) Houser; her grandchildren, Ethan and Carolyn Houser, Taylor (Mason) Carter, Chelsea Lee Houser, 2nd Lt. Evon Blair (2nd Lt. John) Delisle, USAF and Rankin Houser; great grandson, Kenneth Carter; a brother, John (Cindy) Moose; and a sister in law, Gail (David) Gribble; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service: Holy Communion Lutheran Church with Reverend Paul Kanupp officiating.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Rankin Houser, Ethan Houser, Mason Carter, Blair Gribble, Robert Pasour and Davis Pasour.
