Mr. Charles L. Greenhill, age 85, of Hanover, Indiana, entered this life on January 8, 1937 in Madison, Indiana. He was the loving son of the late Harry and Irene Willman Greenhill. He was inducted into the United States Army on October 23, 1960 at Fort Lewis, Washington and rose to the rank of Specialist Five during the Vietnam War. He received the Good Conduct Medal, the Marksman Badge, the Sharpshooter Badge, and the Expert Tank Gun Badge. Charles was blessed with three sons; James, Charles, and Dale. He was united in marriage to Mary Nadine Gassert on July 9, 1990 in Carrollton, Kentucky. He was a welder at Carman Industries before retiring. Charles was a member of the Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion and the Madison VFW Post No. 1969. He enjoyed motorcycles, mowing, and building things out of steel. Charles died on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at 1:58 p.m. at the Norton King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, Indiana.

A LOVING FAMILY
Charles will be missed by his loving wife of 32 years, Mary Nadine Greenhill of Hanover, Indiana; sons, James "Jamie" Allen Greenhill of Atlanta, Georgia, Charles Anthony Greenhill and his wife Delilah of Clarksville, Indiana, and Dale Patrick Greenhill of Shelbyville, Kentucky; his stepsons, Roger Gassert and his wife, Diane of Hanover. and Ronald Gassert and his wife, Donna of Hanover; his stepdaughters, Natalie Gray and her husband, Brian of Lexington, and Suzanna Brown and her husband, John of Hanover; his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sisters, Margaret Phillips of Madison, and Vera Walters of Dupont, and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry P. Greenhill, mother, Irene Willman Greenhill, his sister Rita Booth, and his brother, Raymond Phillips.

FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, September 4, 2022, at 3:00 p.m., by Pastor Bob Flynn at the Lick Branch Baptist Church, 10439 W. Deputy Pike Road Deputy, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Lick Branch Cemetery in Deputy Indiana.

VISITATION
Friends may visit Sunday, September 4, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the Lick Branch Baptist Church, 10439 W. Deputy Pike Road Deputy, Indiana.

MILITARY HONORS
A final salute with military honors will be provided by the Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion.
