---Davie J. Curtis, 81, of LaPlata passed away Sunday (January 20, 1985) in Grim-Smith Hospital.
---The son of Alva and Nancy Ellen Ayers Curtis, he was born September 10, 1903, in Adair County. On September 12, 1923, he was married to Lola Beryl Wever who preceded him in death on January 17, 1952. Also preceding him in death were his parents; one son, Eldon ("Bill") Weber in 1970; one infant grandson and one sister, Jennie Magers.
---Surviving are one son, Dean Curtis of Kirksville; three granddaughters; three grandsons; ten great-grandchildren and one brother, Ray Curtis of Edina.
---Mr. Curtis attended school in Adair County. Most of his life was spent engaged in farming until ten years ago when he moved to LaPlata.
---Funeral services will be held at ten o'clock Tuesday morning (January 22, 1985) in the chapel of Foster-Fohn Memorial Home. The Rev. Archie Cooper will conduct the services. Music will be provided by Charles ("Bud") Reese, singing, "Beyond the Sunset" and "On The Wings of a Dove." He will be accompanied by Dianthe Cable, organist. Burial will be in the Yarrow Cemetery.
---Casket bearers will be: Bob Curtis, Larry Curtis, Harlan Curtis, Wendell Curtis, Leon Curtis and Richard McBee.
---Friends may call at Foster - Fohn Memorial Home.
