Elsie Burns Teal, a lifetime resident of Walker, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at Harvest Manor Nursing Home. She was 98. Graveside services were held on Saturday, March 8, at 11 a.m. in the Revival Temple Cemetery and conducted by her son, Larry Teal. She is survived by three sons, Larry Teal and wife Louise, Jimmie Teal and wife Patty and Michael Teal and wife Dianne; two daughters, Sybil Teal Miller and husband Dale and Myra Teal Irvine and husband Rick; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Elner Burns Ledet. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edmond and Olive Burns; grandchild, Mitchell Teal; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Teal; four brothers, Wilbert Burns, Pat Burns, Ray Burns and Ivan Burns; four sisters, Addie Burns Coats, Annie Burns Berthelot, Vivian Burns Pendarvis and Bea Burns Achord. Pallbearers were grandsons, Tim, Brian, Eric, Carl, Troy and James Teal. She was a foster grandparent with the Council on Aging. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and always giving to her family and friends. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the support team with Harvest Manor Nursing Home and Life Source Hospice.
