This Baby Girl PETTIS was born just before Christmas on the homestead of her parents John Luman PETTIS and Harriet DAVIS PETTIS. She did not live long enough for a first or middle name to be given to her. Her mother would die within 9 days of her birth from complications noted on her Death Certificate as: "Inflamation of the Bowels". Baby Girl PETTIS was one of Harriet's five known Children. It is very likely that there may have been other children who were not accounted for because "miscarriages" were not discusssed or even acknowledged at that time.

Baby Girl PETTIS is remembered in this Memorial. Her birth is recorded in Le Sueur County Records but No Name is stated in the documentation. This Child, like her Mother Harriet DAVIS PETTIS, was buried in the DAVIS PETTIS Family plot on the farmstead of her deceased Grandfather Charles PETTIS and Grandmother Sarah HOSFORD PETTIS. Later moved to Woodlawn Cemetery after it was established in 1881. This likely occurred in 1921 when John Luman PETTIS died and was laid to Rest in Woodlawn.
