She was the wife of Kurvin K. Krout. Born in East Berlin on April 3, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Amos and Lucy L. (Stine) Linebaugh. Mrs. Krout was a member of Paradise 'Holtzschwamm' Lutheran Church, Thomasville.
She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Richard J. Gross Post 8896, East Berlin; the International Ladies Garment Workers' Union; and a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the East Berlin Fire Company. In addition to her husband, Kurvin, she is survived by one son, Kenneth K. Krout of Spring Grove; one daughter, Joann L. Luckenbaugh of Hanover; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Earl 'Jim' Linebaugh of Abbottstown, Glen Linebaugh of Dover, and Merle Linebaugh of Gettysburg; and two sisters, Dorothy Sterner of Dover and Anna Bankert of East Berlin. She was predeceased by four brothers, Charles, Emmanuel, Ralph, and Wilson Linebaugh; and one sister, Sadie Wilt.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 9, 2006, at 10 a.m. from Paradise 'Holtzschwamm' Lutheran Church, 3241 Church Road, Thomasville, with her pastor, the Rev. Timothy SeitzBrown, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Viewings will be held Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Feiser Funeral Home, Inc., 306 Harrisburg St., East Berlin, and on Tuesday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Paradise 'Holtzschwamm' Lutheran Church, 3241 Church Road, Thomasville, PA 17364; or to York Lutheran Retirement Village, 1801 Folkemer Circle, York, PA 17404.
