Ransom "Butch" Battershell, 75, retired barber from here, died November 27, 1970 in the Brokaw Hospital in Bloomington, Illinois after an extended illness. He was the son of John Wallace and Laura Bell Berry Battershell. He had a son Raymond of Forest Park and two daughters, Mrs Don (Marlene) Catro of Joliet and Mrs George (Marilyn) Piersall. A brother Cecil of Robinson, two sisters, Mrs Ocie (Gladys) Dart and Mrs Gertie L Bond of Oblong. His wife, Fern Chapman Battershell, died in 1961. The funeral service was held at Buchanan Funeral Home and burial was in the Robinson New Cemetery. born Champaign co., Il. - died Bloomington, McLean co., Il.
