Mrs Gertie Bond, 69, of Robinson Rte #4, died unexpectedly June 25, 1976 at Crawford Memorial Hospital where she had been admitted the previous evening. She was a daughter of John Wallace and Laura Berry Battershell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Bond, who died October 29, 1973. She is survived by 3 sons, Harold A of Corvalis, Oregon, John Bond at home and Paul Bond, Rte #4, Robinson, 4 daughters, Mrs Tom (Laura) Rich, Mrs Ronnie (Elizabeth) Maxwell, Mrs Larry (Martha) Dennis, and Mrs Roy (Josephine) Weck, all of Oblong, twenty-one grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and a brother Cecil Battershell of Rte #4, Robinson. Services were held at 2 pm Sunday at the Buchanan Funeral Home with Rev John Brown officiating, assisted by Louis Shelton, and was buried in the Robinson New Cemetery.
