Josephine Benner, 72, of 206 E Poplar Street, died at 12:30 Sunday PM at Mary Sherman Hospital at Sullivan, Indiana where she had been a patient since breaking her leg in a fall at her home May 14. Mrs Benner had been improving satisfactorily but died from a heart attack while the doctor was visiting her in her room after lunch. Although she had a history of heart ailments, death was unexpected. Attempts to revive her proved futile. Surviving are a son, George Benner, daughter, Mrs Walter Hurst (Margaret Belle) and 2 grandchildren. Also 3 brothers survive, Ransom Battershell and Cecil Battershell of Robinson, and Bernus Battershell of Shelbyville, 2 sisters, Mrs Roy "Gertie" Bond of Stoy and Mrs Ocie "Gladys" Dart of Oblong. Her husband, John H Benner, died in 1959. She was a member of the First Methodist Church and Royal Neighbors. Funeral services were 2 PM at Buchanan Funeral Home with Rev James W Owen officiating. Burial was at the Robinson New Cemetery.
