Esther E. Lau, formerly of Seven Valleys, PA, died early Sunday morning January 8, 2023. She was the wife of Harry Lau, who preceded her in death. Born in 1930, she was the daughter of the late Abraham and Emma (Sweitzer) Bupp. She was the youngest in the family of nine children. Brothers, Jesse, William, Abraham and Lewis Bupp and sisters, Gladys Hoke, Mildred Schwartz, Olive Peppler and Helen Smallwood all preceded her in death. She has three daughters, Linda Hamme of Seven Valleys, Tina Detsch and her husband Kevin of Myrtle Beach, SC and Patricia Carvalhais, who preceded her in death. There are eight grandchildren, John Hamme, Amy Kaltreider, Chad Kaltreider, Jason Hamme, Holly Rivera, Brent Robertson, Jennifer Long and Nicole Lavric. She has sixteen great grandchildren and one who preceded her in death. Esther worked several years at Doe-Spun and Dinah-Lynn, then at BAE at Bair station until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening and loved working in her flowerbeds almost daily through spring and summer. She loved going to the beach and riding motorcycle with her husband. They joined many weekend rides in York, Lancaster and Harrisburg. She was a Nascar fan, and loved getting the chance to meet Jeff Gordon, her favorite driver.
