Pittston relatives have received word of the death last night in a New York hospital of Mrs. Elizabeth Blewitt Duffy, widow of Patrick F. Duffy, a former resident of Pittston.
Mrs. Duffy had been making her home with her niece, Mrs. George Porligo, at Kew Gardens, L. I. for the past four years. There will be a requiem mass on Saturday morning in a Catholic Church in New York City and the body will be brought to Wilkes-Barre on Saturday afternoon on the west bound Black Diamond train of the Lehigh Valley Railroad at 3:26 p. m. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover.
Deceased was the former Elizabeth Blewitt, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas F. Blewitt, early settlers on Pine street. She was graduated from Pittston High school and for a number of years was a school teacher in Pittston, having taught the primary class at the Washington school, on the High school plot. Following her marriage to Mr. Duffy the couple resided in Wilkes-Barre, Mr. Duffy's home town, for a few years before they moved to New York City. Surviving are a sister and brother, Mrs. B. Scott and Thomas Blewitt, both of Brooklyn, N.Y.
