MR. JAMES A. MUDD, 65, a retired Marion Counter farmer, died at his home at 11:45 p.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 1973. Mr. Mudd was the son of the late James A. and Mary Virginia Hamilton Mudd. He is survived by his wife, Mary Evelyn Mattingly Mudd; one daughter, Miss Margaret Ann Mudd, Glen Burnie, Maryland; two sons, Jerry Lee of Lebanon and Thomas Gerald of Louisville; five sisters, Mrs. Frances Sheriffler, Hillsboro, Ohio; Mrs. Caroline Lang, Lantonia, Ky.; Mrs. Mary Cyril Mudd, Lebanon; Sister Eudocia and Sister Mary Oda of Maple Mount; three brothers, Thomas H. Mudd of Lebanon; Owen D. Mudd of Carlisle, IL.; Charles T. Mudd of Radcliff and one grandchild. Funeral services were held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Augustine Catholic Church with the Fr. Kenneth Tobe officiating. Burial was in the St. Charles Cemetery. Bosley Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Pallbearers were Francis Mudd, Billy and Dave Mattingly, Joe O'Daniel, Joe Paul Daugherty and Jack Beaven.

Buried, 12/07/1973, in St. Charles Cemetery, St. Mary, Ky; Section B; Card 11, # 169. The book about St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Cemetery by Gerald Thompson, states that his marker has the inscription: "James A. Mudd b. 1908 - d. 1973."
