FRANCES MUDD SHREFFLER, 92, Covington, formerly of Akron, Ohio, died at 6:04 a.m., Aug. 22, 1994, at St. John Nursing Home in Covington. Shreffler was born Feb. 8, 1902 in Marion County. She was a retired employee of LeRoy Jewelry in Akron, Ohio. She was preceded in death by: her parents, James A. and Mary Virginia Hamilton Mudd; four brothers, Thomas H., James A., Charles T. and Owen D. Mudd; and two sisters, Margaret Sharkey and Sister Mary Oda Mudd. Survivors include: three sisters, Cyril Mudd of Lebanon, Carolyn Lang of Covington and Sister Eudocia Mudd of Maple Mount; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m., Aug. 24, 1994, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with burial in the St. Charles Church Cemetery. Rev. Ivo Cecil officiated. Pallbearers were Ignatius, Francis, Jerry and Jimmy Lee Mudd, Steve Lang and Billy Downs. Prayer services were held at 8 p.m., Aug. 23, 1994, at Bosley Funeral Home, Lebanon, which was in charge of the arrangements.
