Stephen was always known as Steven or Steve for short. when I was growing up he and Dale were on their own so I only seen them when coming home to visit. I remember he could play the guitar and organ among a few others that he learned to play without training or a book, He just did it by ear and was a natural musician, he wrote his own snogs and while he never had a desire to publish them, one song I'm going to Cocodrie was taken and published by one of his friends. He was in NO for a car show and when he heard it over the radio at mom's, He was flipping mad. He was married to Linda Babin back then and they had a daughter Tynoa Lynn he offten played songs for her. Then when they split up she was about a year or so in age, he slowly stop playing his music. Both of them went on to remarry, Tynoa was then adopted by her husband Dave Billiot). Steve also remarried to Darlene Marie Lirette and had another daughter Michelle only this time he didn't live far as they moved next door to her parents who lived on the back side of our street and we were able to see him a lot more. There didn't seem to be marital issues or if their was we didn't know it. They seemed very happy. Steven was becoming more family involved. Then one morning as Dad was getting ready for work and while he was having his usual morning cup of coffee he picked up the paper from the day before and there had been a accident and at the light set a rig, and Steven's wife and child were in it. Dad went on to work not knowing what to think or the day would bring. He then decided to call Steven on his job to tell him what he saw in the paper. That's when Steven decided to tell him she wasn't at home the night before and he was worried, his wife and child were gone. It is my understanding today that he got to see her once when she was a teenager. However I don't think he knew that the boy that we knew she had may have been his son or that he carries his family name. The children are grown today and his daughter has children of her own. She tells me, of a much different painted picture of him by her mother. One of them being he was a alcoholic that alone has kept her from ever wanting to know him. The son basically felt the same way. As he doesn't know that Steve was not his father. Sadly enough both marriages were ended by divorce and the girls adopted by his ex wives future spouses. I am sure it changed the coarse of his life. He was a proud man very old fashion perhaps it is why through the years he was so overly protective of his sisters and acted more like our father than a brother. I was a grown woman, married with children and he went off on me over wearing a mini skirt...LOL. Steve learned how to fly a Ultra Light from my brother Louis and while they both owned their own through building them together and flying often, Steve's love grew stronger everyday for flying. He got into flying model planes and though a crash would destroy them, He had mama as backup for repairs. He just couldn't stop and moved own to flying planes, He just found his calling. He took up flight school while he worked as a mechanic. When he was ready for solo flying, he would beg our father to go with him on some of them and Dad would always say no no no. Steven knew dad wasn't afraid of flying as he often had to do in the military. So he decided to ask him why and Dad just kept saying no. On his final day of school he again ask Dad and when he said no, Steven then replay Dad if it is your time to go it doesn't matter where you are - you will go. Dad looked up at him and replied, Yea but what if it were your turn to go?...Steve gave up and went on to received his commercial flight licence that day. It was then discovered during his medical check out that he had a heart condition and could not fly commercial. They retracted his licences to flying only twin engine or smaller aircraft. While it may have been a let down for him. He knew he could do it and was thrill just to be able to fly on his own. He was happy, He remarried a third time to Geraldine Konzelman. She was so easy to get along with and we became good friends during their marriage. She could not have children but found pleasure in being the godmother of both my sister and my own son's. I was shocked to learn of their separation when it happened. I never knew why they separated. I knew she had a issue with him flying as it scared her. But I honesty never though they would separate after being together for a few years. I lost a very close friend in her. She got sick and next thing I knew she was gone. Steve being the way he was carried on with his life. He got into antique dealing which was another of his loves and restored many for others. But I had already left Louisiana and eventually he came to visit us here in NC. He really like the area we were in and was considering taking up employment. We wanted him to stay up here and helped him get on where we worked. He began dealing in restoring old antiques. It wasn't long after that he met his final wife Carol. Carol was one of my former nurses who lost her license but was allowed to do charting as well as her daughter Jennifer who was a LPN. He was definitely head over heels for her. She could charm him like no other and it didn't surprise me that they wanted to get married. What surprised me was after they had been married and he worked double jobs to help pay off all her debts and then he had me co sigh a loan in my name to get her nursing license. After all was said and done, she wanted her freedom and asked him on Christmas eve night to leave her home. Telling him she fell in love with another woman and simply wanted her freedom to move on. Believe me even her own daughter was in total shock. Steven hoping his wife was just going through a mid life crisis and stayed on. He lived next with her daughter for awhile, after quitting his job. He was hired own by one of our local ice cream shops and restored many of their antiques both inside and out. It took him awhile but while she was living it up, it was tearing him down. He decided to pack it in and return to Louisiana. It was the last time I saw my brother until just prior to his death. Every time I pass the shop where he restored the antiques I can't help but think of him. He was a good brother to all of us, I just wish he could have had a better life with his wives and children. Some of his final words to us was he was ready to move on as he had no regrets. I'm sure he soars with the best of them now. I'll love you forever...Fly high brother, till we meet again...

March 10, 2017 Due to a recent updated picture of Leslie Billiot by her sister Lynsey Billiot and my contacting Lynsey. I have finally had the pleasure of speaking to one of my niece's and grandniece Lynsey. I hope to be able to continue getting to know them.
Updated 3/5/2018 His daughter Michelle from his second marriage to Darlene, was also adopted had found me. I am pleased to learn and update the former information I had. She was not adopted by a Anderson. By way of herself, she was adopted by a Ledet. When asked how she found me she said, She reached out to her sister Tynoa, who told her about me. Sadly she told me-I know nothing of this side of my family. She had not met my brother until she was in her teens. She did visit with my brother Alger around the age of 16 with her mother. I learned he has two grandchildren from her a girl and boy. She also told me of her brother who as far as she knows is caring the name of Crochet He was born just 3 years after her and believe Steve to be his father. I have no way of knowing the truth, I only know it is possible the man she left him for could be the Anderson, I thought that had adopted her. It is with great pride to be able to also get to know my niece Michelle Quebedeaux. With the information she shared, I have now been able to complete updating some of these files.
