DEATH OF JAMES LOWE
After an illness of ten days with heart disease, James Lowe died on Wednesday night at his home, between Leroy and Monarch. He was one of the oldest settlers in that vicinity. Deceased was born in Westmoreland county, Virginia, June 4, 1827. He remained in his native state till ten years of age, when he removed to Ohio. In 1850 he came to McLean county, and in 1854 was married to Miss Sarah Jane Craig. His wife died in 1880.
He leaves four children, two others having died several years ago. The surviving children are Mrs. Mary Scott of Leroy; Barney, Jasper and Peter Lowe, all living in this vicinity. The funeral will be held from the house today at 1 o'clock.
