Chico Daily Enterprise, Friday evening, December 20, 1918: "Funeral Notices. Coon -- The funeral services of the late Andrew J. Coon were held this afternoon from the Christian church, at 2 p.m. Rev. Galen Lee Rose, officiating. Interment was made in Chico cemetery."
Coon Descendants, by Frances Davis McTeer, 1979, (pg. 219): "Andrew Jackson Coon, (son of Christian Coon), born in Coles Co., Illinois, 14 Dec 1846, died in Chico, California, 18 Dec 1918, buried Dayton Cemetery, Butte Co., California; married his distant cousin Margaret Jane Gray, born in Coles Co. in 1855."
Note: Chico Cemetery District Records do not show an interment for Andrew Jackson Coon. As there is a marker for him at Dayton cemetery, and given the family's location, we feel reasonably certain that interment took place here, Ed.
