He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Vesta Massey Rye, and four children, Glen and wife Louise of Russellville, Alton and wife Anne of Fort Worth, Texas, Wanda and husband Reverend Bob Perry of Little Rock, Charles and wife Ann of Arkadelphia, daughter-in-law Shelia Jones Rye of Fayetteville, two sisters, Shirley Rye Lemley and Nina Rye Collins and two brothers, Samuel M. ("Bus") Rye and James Rye. He is also survived by four granddaughters, Carrie Rye Banks of Fayetteville, Tonia Rye Smith of Fayetteville, Melissa Rye of Dallas, Texas, and Ashley Perry Hickman of Springdale; six grandsons, Eric Rye of Tallahassee, Florida, Joey King of Chicago, Illinois, Hays Rye of Princeton, New Jersey, Alan Perry of Maumelle, Andrew Rye of Naperville, Illinois, and David Rye of Arkadelphia; two great-granddaughters, Peri and Peyton Hickman, and four great-grandsons, Burkemon Banks, Hayden Rye, Sidney Perry, and Henry Rye.
The funeral service will be held at the First Assembly of God in Russellville at 2 PM, on Tuesday, March 21, 2006 with entombment at the Rest Haven Memorial Park Mausoleum by Shinn Funeral Service in Russellville.
