Mrs. Lessie Phipps

Funeral services for Mrs.
Lessie Lee Phipps, 77, of Har-
per Road, will be conducted at
2:30 p.m. Thursday in the
Mount Tabor Baptist Church
with the Rev. Albert Ostrander
in charge. Burial will follow in
the Mount Tabor Cemetery.
She dies at her residence at
3:10 p.m., Tuesday sfter a long
illness.
She was born at Crab Orch-
ard March 27, 1887, a daughter
of the late Sparrel and Susan
Davis Snuffer. She was a life-
time resident of Raleigh County
and was a member of the
Mount Tabor Baptist Church.
Her husband Snider Phipps
preceeded her death in 1959.
Survivors include three daugh-
ters, Mrs. John (Wanda) Reid,
Mrs. Dellmeda Phipps and Mrs.
Ronald (Revell) Holdren, all of
Harper Road; three sons, James
Carl Phipps, Edward Phipps
and Denny Phipps, all of Harper
Road; four sisters, Mrs. Melia
Riffo of Harper Road, Mrs.
Della Campbell of Crab Orch-
ard, Mrs. Lettie Evans of Pem-
berton and Mrs. Mary Scott of
Cincinnati, Ohio; one brother,
Ira Snuffer of Coal City; eight
grandchildren and 13 great-
grandchildren.
The body is at the Calfee
Funeral Home and will be taken
to the home at 3 p.m. today.
The body will be taken to the
church one hour proir to serv-
ice time.
Pallbearers will be Tracy Hyl-
ton, Paul Phipps, Lewis Davis,
Weldon Campbell, James Mc-
Vey, Boyd Stanley, Hubert Vest,
Frankie Stanley, Ronald Snuf-
fer and Jennings Scott.
Nieces will serve as flower
bearers.
