Alvah B. Davis, 57, suffered a heart attack while at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. E. Franklin passing away April 6, 1958. He was born in Rock Glen on November 18, 1900, a son of George M. and Elizabeth Shea Davis.
After graduating from Kalamazoo College Michigan in 1923, he was employed 15 years with the S. S. Kresge chain of stores returning to Warsaw in 1942. He owned a store in Warsaw, served five years with OPA, operated Glen Iris Inn for eight years, and served as Town of Genesee Falls Supervisor. In 1954 he opened the Davis Motel on Castile-Portageville Road.
Surviving are his wife, Millicent; a daughter Mrs. J. C. Franklin of Lancaster, Pa.; a son, Capt. Alvah Davis, Jr. U.S. Army; two brothers, Dr. George Davis of Arcade, Edward Davis of Rock Glen; a sister, Marguerite Parker of Rock Glen; six grandchildren. Services at Harmon Funeral Home with Rev. Willis Stackhouse.
