Edward M. Davis died February 10, 1968. He was born in 1896 in an apartment in the Davis store founded in the 1880's, a son of George M. and Elizabeth Shea Davis. He graduated from Warsaw High School, served with 153rd Depot Brid. during World War I.
In 1922 he married Eva Stone of Castile. He was a member of Rock Glen Baptist Church, Warsaw Masonic Lodge, Batavia Commandery, R A M, Wyo. Barracks, WWI Veterans, Bates-Courtney Post, Am. Hardware Assn., State and Olean Wholesalers Assn.
Survivors include his wife, Eva; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Howell of Penfield; a sister, Marguerite (Robert) Parker of Youngstown, Ariz.; a brother, Dr. George G. Davis of Arcade; and four grandchildren. WW I veterans conducted a memorial service followed by fraternal services at Weeks Funeral Home, Rev. Herbert Councill officiated. Burial Maple Grove.
