Rock Island resident and Warren County native Dorothy Grizzell Womack, 84, died unexpectedly March 12 at River Park Hospital.

A retired school teacher with the Warren County School System and a member of Rock Island Church of Christ, she was the daughter of I.J. and Julia Sanders Grizzell Sr.; and was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Wilson Womack on March 12, 1997; and brothers, John Pope, Norman and I.J. Grizzell Jr.

She is survived by sons, Lamar Wilson Womack and Elvis G. Womack, both of Rock Island; daughters, Lynette W. Moore of Rock Island and Bernadette W. Morris of McMinnville; sons-in-law, William C. (Bill) Moore of Rock Island and Anthony Morris of McMinnville; daughter-in-law, Celia Wallace Womack of Rock Island; grandsons, Scott and Ryan Moore, Heath and Johnathan Morris and Ethan Womack; granddaughters, Desiree Hobbs, Tara Partin, Katie Beth and Emily Womack; great-granddaughter, Rylan Moore; great-grandsons, Trevor and Taylor Moore, Chance Hobbs and Travis Moore; granddaughters-in-law, Jennifer and Erica Moore; grandsons-in-law, Chris Hobbs and John Partin; sisters, Edith Faye Bowling of Murfreesboro and Jane Golden of McMinnville; brothers, Harold Grizzell of Massachusetts, Lloyd Grizzell of Wasco, Calif., and Floyd Grizzell of Old Hickory; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. today at High's Chapel with Ed Wilhite officiating. Burial will follow at Old Bybee Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service today at High's.

High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
