I.J. (Big Ike) Grizzell, Sr., retired farmer and nurseryman and former public official, died at 81 years of age.
Mr. Grizzell served as a member of Warren County Quarterly Court, representing the 14th Civil District, for a number of years and as Warren County's representative to the Tennessee General Assembly in the early 1950's. He was the owner and operator of Walnut Grove nursery for several years.
Issac John Grizzell was born in Warren County on July 24,1885 and was a son of the late John Rose Grizzell and Mrs. Jane Webb Grizzell. He was married on Feb.10, 1907, to the former Miss Julia Ann Sanders, who survives.
Mr. Grizzell was a member of the Methodist Church.
In addition to the widow, he is survived by five sons, Norman Grizzell, Detroit, Mich.;Harold Grizzell, Salem, Mass.,I.J.Grizzell, Jr., Winchester, Lloyd Grizzell, Wasco, Calif., and Floyd Grizzell,Oak Ridge; three daughters, Mrs. Clark Bowling, Murfreesboro,
Mrs. Ward Golden, McMinnville and Mrs. Wilson Womack, Rock Island; a brother,Robert I. (Bob) Grizzell, McMinnville; a sister, Mrs. Walter Lusk, Perryton, Texas; 34 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
