Funeral services were held this morning at Reno, at eleven o'clock for John Lewis McCracken, age 67, who died Saturday night at six o'clock at his farm home near Reno, following an illness from heart trouble, the services were held in the Reno Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Hemken officiating, and the remains were taken to Donnellson cemetery for burial.

Mr. McCracken had been a resident of Donnellson for 35 years and was employed there as a barber until two years ago, when his health forced him to retire to his farm home in Reno, the deceased was born near Reno, on May 31, 1868, on the farm where he died, he was the son of the late William P. and Ellen (Armstrong) McCracken, and at his death he was 67 years 9 months and 27 days of age, he was reared in the Reno community and as a young man went to Donnellson, where he opened a barber shop which operated until he retired, he was united in marriage with Miss Flossie Pierce, five children were born to them, who are all living, they are Mrs. Lucy Coleman of St. Louis, Pierce McCracken, who is a member of the Civilian conservation corp., Miss Mabel McCracken of St. Louis, Glendon and Mary Jane McCracken at home. Mrs. McCracken died, and Mr. McCracken married Josie Compton, who survives him.
