Dora Etta was the third daughter of William and Grace (Prouty) West, born August 24, 1891 in Polk County, Wisconsin. She had black hair and brown eyes. In 1914 she married Carl H. Hanson, a neighbor boy. They rented a farm by Lake Marsh from one of Carl's uncles, later renting a farm from one of Dora's uncles.
In 1929 they moved to Sandpoint, Idaho but they eventually moved to Bothel, Washington. They were married over 50 years. They had four children: Garold A, Myrtle V, Evelyn D, and Clinton H. Hanson.
Dora died on September 23, 1979 and is buried in Pacific Lutheran Cemetery in Seattle, Washington.
