Myrtel, as she was known, was the daughter of George Edwin Blackler and Susan Stella Edelman. In her own handwriting, she spelled her name Ester Myrtel.

OBITUARY
"Graveside Rites Held on Tuesday for Mrs. Beach - Final tribute was paid to Myrtle Blackler Beach of Fernie, B.C., there on Monday, February 28, followed by graveside services in the Newport cemetery at 1 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Mark Ramseth of the American Lutheran church officiating. Mrs. Beach passed away at Fernie Saturday, Feb. 26.

Mrs. Beach was born to George and Stella Blackler July 30, 1902, in Savannah, MO., and the family came here in 1916, settling in the Freeman lake district. Mrs. Beach was graduated from Newport high school in 1922.

The family includes her husband Julius Beach at the home; 10 children, ...45 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; three brothers, John Blackler of Red Lodge, Mont., Clarence Blackler and Allen Blackler of Missoula; three sisters, Mabel Stowe, Missoula, and Hazel Blackler of Tumwater, Wash. and Blanche Bradshaw of Milwaukie, Ore.; mother-in-law, Inga Bennett, and Swan Larson, both of Newport.

Mrs. Beach was buried next to the graves of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Blackler. Sherman Funeral Home had charge of the burial rites."
