Mabel graduated from Missoula County High School in 1916. She worked in various offices of the Northern Pacific Railway 1918-1924.
On February 11, 1924, Mabel married Benjamin Franklin Stowe, the son of Benjamin Franklin Stowe and Mary Elizabeth White, at Helena, Lewis and Clark, Montana.
Mabel returned to work at Northern Pacific about 1926 to 1930. With the advent of World War II, she once again returned to work at NP from 1942 to 1947.
Ben and Mabel had no children.
They celebrated 50 years of marriage on February 11, 1974.
Ben died on December 17th of that same year.
In 1975, Mabel moved to Tumwater, Washington, and resided there until she died.
