Lewis Martin Brown was born Sunday, June 16, 1833 in Georgia to William Allen Brown and Isabella Elizabeth Dial Brown.

He married Martha Louise White, a daughter of Anderson White, Jr. and Saphrona Arnold White.

The children of Martin and Martha Brown are Elbert M. Brown, Lewis William Brown, Lela Ann Brown, James Robert Brown, Ada Florida Harp, Rosella Layton, Thomas W. Brown December 23, 1879-????, Silas Martin Brown, Ninnie Lee Roberts, Martha Idella Roberts, Lettie Mae Harp and Ellis Anderson Brown.

Death Record - February 11 - L. Martin Brown died at the late residence, fourteen miles southeast of New Decatur. Funeral services conducted Monday afternoon at Johnson Chapel.

Suggested edit: Lewis M. Brown enlisted Aug. 31, 1862 at Pollard. He was wounded and captured at Ezra Church on July 28, 1864 and imprisoned at Camp Chase, Ohio. He was released on oath at Point Lookout, Md. June 9, 1865.
