After his racing days were over, Princequillo was purchased by Arthur B. Hancock and sent to his Ellerslie Stud in Virginia and later to his Claiborne Farm near Paris, Kentucky.
Princequillo was twice the Champion sire in North American and seven times the Champion Broodmare sire.
Princequillo died of a heart attack in 1964.
