Donald R. "Pat" Patterson, 84, Grand Forks, North Dakota, died Wednesday, November 8, 2006 in 4000 Valley Square-Woodside Villiage, Grand Forks.
Donald Richard Patterson was born July 27, 1922 the son of Joseph and Mary (Dahlum) Patterson in East Grand Forks, Minnesota. He was raised and educated in East Grand Forks. Upon the completion of his education, he enlisted in the United States Navy on November 5, 1942 at Fargo, North Dakota. During World War II, he served aboard the USS Seawolf. He was honorably discharged from military service on January 4, 1946. He returned to East Grand Forks and married Ursula "Honey" Ward on April 3, 1948 in St. Michael's Catholic Church, Grand Forks. Following their marriage, they moved to Los Angeles, California, where Donald was employed with Knott's Berry Farm. They returned to East Grand Forks and he was employed with Lystad-Redick of Grand Forks. Later, he was employed with Midwest Motor Express until his retirement in 1984. He resided in grand Forks until his death. Donald was a member of the American Legion Post 157, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3817 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 350, East Grand Forks, Minnesota.
He is Survived by, his wife Ursula "Honey"; a daughter, Dawn (Dan) Storey;
grandsons, Daniel and Brett Storey all of Grand Forks, North Dakota and a nephew, Michael Patterson, Leeds, North Dakota and California.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Jane Lee; brothers, LaVerne, Swede, Joseph, Robert and Charles.
