Funeral services for Lydia Lungren, Sturgis, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Kinkade Funeral Chapel, Sturgis, with the Rev. Raymond Adams officiating. Burial will be at Bear Butte Cemetery under the direction of Kinkade Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be from noon until 9 p.m. Saturday, noon until 7 p.m., Sunday and 8 a.m. until services Monday, all at the funeral chapel.
Lundgren, 85, died Aug. 18, 1993, at her daughter's residence in Sturgis. A memorial has been established to the Meade County Senior Citizen Center.
She was born Nov. 5, 1907 in the U.S.S.R to German parents Mr. and Mrs. John Reinhardt. St the age of 5 she and her family came to the United States,. They lived in Michigan and Wyoming before moving to South Dakota. She married Henry Lungren in January of 1925. She became a U.S. citizen in 1939.
She was a member of the Meade County Senior Citizen Center.
Survivors include two daughters, Marjorie and husband Gordon Rihanek of Rapid City, and Fern Brown, Sturgis; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mary Herman and Betty Schmidt, both of Belle Fourche, Katherine Pauley and Dorothy Reitz, both of Spearfish, and Freida Mailloux of Vale; one brother, John Reinhardt, Glenrock, Wyo.; and numerous nieces and nephew.
She was preceded in death by her husband' two sons, LeRoy and Bob' one daughter, Katherine Barkley; four brothers, Alec, Robert, Edward and William Reinhardt; and her parents.
