Mrs. Hans (Jack) Schaar, 77, of R. 1, New Holstein, a 50 years resident of the area, died early today at Calumet Homstead, New Holstein, where she had been a resident the past 10 months.
The former Jennie Koeser was born April 18, 1895 in the Town of Schleswig, Manitowoc County, a daughter of the late Louis and Caroline Duebner Koeser. She attended Town of Herman schools.
On April 6, 1921 she was married to Mr. Schaar in the Town of Newton, Manitowoc County. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1971. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, New Holstein, and its Ladies Aid Society.
Survivors are her husband; a son, Orville T. of New Holstein; a daughter, Mrs. Jerome (Alice) Schmitz of R. 2, Elkhart Lake; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Louis Koeser of R. 1, Elkhart Lake, and John Koeser of R 2, Kiel. Four brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
