JACKSON CENTER MAN KILLED IN AUTO WRECK
Abraham (Abe) Oda, 78, of Jackson Center, was injured fatally, and another Jackson Center area resident was hurt when their car left the highway on the Auglaize-Logan county line road on Friday night.
Oda, a retired ditching contractor, was dead on arrival at Wilson Memorial hospital, where he was removed after a passing motorist discovered the accident a short distance south of Santa Fe at about 11:45 p.m. Friday.
Admitted to the Sidney hospital for treatment of a dislocated hip was William Zorn, 67, of R. R. 1, Jackson Center, driver of the car in which Oda was riding.
According to the Bellefontaine state highway patrol post, Zorn was driving south when he apparently lost control of the car, leaving the road on the right side.
The Zorn auto went into a ditch, collided with a tree, and bounced back onto the road.
Zorn's car, the only vehicle involved in the crash, was demolished.
The injured man was reported in good condition at the hospital.
