New York Passenger List dated June 5, 1867, we see Christian at 25 years. old. Right under his name we see Elizabeth 53 years old. This appears to be his mother.

On his Illinois death record it records his father as John Rakow & Frida Zrotz. Her full name may have been Elizabeth Frida Zrotz.

1900 Census tells us that Christian married Louise Trotz in 1867. This is the same year he Imigrated to America from Germany. Their marriage took place in Germany before their trip to America.

Christian and Louise had 8 children, all of them born in Illinois. Evergreen Memorial Cemetery Records Christian's birth as March 10, 1842 and his death date as July 13, 1919; Also records him buried in the Old City Section of Evergreen Cemetery in Bloomington, Illinois.

He preceded his wife in death, leaving her a widow for 15 years before her death in 1934.
