A memorial service for Randall Bergsgaard, 79, of Maddock & Mesa, Ariz. was held Feb. 10 at the Good Life Trailer Park in Mesa. In the spring there will be a committal service at North Viking Cemetery in Maddock. He died Feb. 5, 1995 at Valley Lutheran Hospital in Mesa, Ariz.

Randall Bergsgaard was born June 23, 1915 at Heimdal to Otto L. & Petronella (Langlie) Bergsgaard. He was educated at schools in Heimdal, Manfred & Maddock. He married Hazel Berghagen Oct. 26, 1938 in Minnewaukan. They farmed in South Viking Township near Maddock until moving into Maddock in 1943. Randall farmed & worked for the Maddock Farmers Grain Co. until 1948 when he purchased a livestock dealership business. In 1953 he became manager of the Maddock Farmers Grain Co. & held that position until 1964. He returned to full-time farming & operating his livestock trucking business until 1976.
Randall & his wife have spent the winter months in Mesa, Ariz. for the past 21 years. He was a member & past deacon of North Viking Lutheran Church in Maddock, a member of the Sons of Norway & Eagles lodge & was an avid square dancer.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Rachel & Allen Rudel of West Fargo; sons, Donald & JoAnn Bergsgaard of Cavalier & Lannis & Sharon Bergsgaard of Crookston, Minn.; 6 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; & a sister, Agnetta Buckman of Roseville, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lloyd & Woodrow; & a grandson, Paul Rudel.
