"Miss Pearl (Abel), 29, a native of Biloxi, died this morning at 8:40 in New Orleans following a brief illness. She was reared in Biloxi and spent virtually her entire life here. Her body will arrive here this afternoon and funeral will probably be held tomorrow afternoon from the residence at 814 Caillavet street and interment will be in the Biloxi cemetery. She is the daughter of the late Joseph and Mrs. (Abel) and besides her mother she leaves two brothers, Ferrill and Carlysle; and five sisters, Mrs. Celestine Dalgo, Mrs. Leona Matulich, Mrs. Hazel Lopez, Mrs. Ola Hamilton and Miss Priscilla (Abel).
Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Records, Book 20, pg 39: Pearl was 28 years, 11 months and 18 days old when she died in New Orleans from typhoid fever. She was the daughter of Joseph Abel of Biloxi, and Ella May Ladnier of Pascagoula. She lived at 814 Caillavet St., Biloxi.
