Balbina E. Acklin, 78, Newton, died at 1:15 p.m. Monday, July 1, 1996 at Newton Rest Haven Nursing Home.
Services at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Newton, with Fr. Joe Molloy officiating. Burial in the Vanderhoof Cemetery in Newton.
Acklin was born Dec. 16, 1917, in Olney, the daughter of Louis F. and Saloma Oakes (Hahn) Zuber. She married Burton Russell Acklin May 1, 1940. He preceded her in death Oct. 20, 1985.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Newton.
She is survived by a son, Jerry Pitman of Newton; three sisters, Judy McCormack and her husband, Barney of Lawrenceville and Isabella Nix and Mabel Shryock, both of Olney; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by parents, her husband, three brothers and a sister.
