Howard W. Hendershott, 92, of Scottsburg, died in his home Wednesday (Feb. 27, 1991) after a long illness.
He was born in Groveland on May 7, 1898, a son of David and Mary Wilson Hendershott. Prior to retirement, he had been a self-employed contractor and farmer. He was a former member of the Linwood Grange and an avid hunter. Mr. Hendershott was predeceased by his wife, Olive, in 1988.

Surviving are a son, Leo of Scottsburg; three sisters, Mabel Leadley of Geneseo, Clara Woodcock of Lincoln, R.I., and Gertrude House of Boynton Beach, Fla.; eight grand-children and nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

A service was conducted Friday evening in the Chamberlin Funeral Home of Dansville with the Rev. Lynn Nelson officiating. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery, Groveland.
