Myrtle Aileen Huchel was born in Madison township, south of Calhoun, April 3, 1905. She was the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Nicholas. Her entire life was spent in Richland county. In 1922 she was united in marriage with Fred Huchel. To this union were born three children, Fred, Jr. of McLeansboro, Eugene and Patricia at home. She departed this life July 15, 1942. Besides the husband and children she leaves to mourn her loss her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Nicholas of German township and the following brothers and sisters, Grace Hinman of Parkersburg, Henry Oren of Danville, Joseph of Danville, Verne of Farmer City, Martin of Parkersburg, Viola Gearhart of Farmer City, Elmer of German township and Marie Gerber of Gary. An older brother William passed away in 1903 and her father in 1934.

Aileen united with the Parkersburg United Brethern Church early in her life and was an active member until the time of her death. She is a past president of the Women's Missionary Society and a teacher of a boys class. She was also active in community projects, serving on the draft board, the Bond drive, and officer in the P.T.A. Her family came first in her life and she was an affectionate wife and mother. As the time of her departure drew nigh her faith in Jesus and his blessing shone brighter. The loss the family and friends must bear is the gain of the land to which she has gone.

Pall bearers: Mrs. Lenard Bricker, Mrs. Ross Wisner, Mrs. Walter Cokley, Mrs. Clint Kinkade, Mrs. C.L. Finley, Mrs. Blaine Knust. Flower girls: Miss Emma Brown, Miss Alwyn Wisner, Miss Pearl Snively, Miss Helen Harrison, Miss Lucille Harrison, Miss Helen Finley, Miss Fern Kinkade, Mrs. Harrison Swinson and Mrs. Mabel Markman.

Funeral services held Friday afternoon at 2:30 from U.B. Church in Parkersburg and burial was in Parkersburg cemetery. Rev. C.L. Finley conducted the services.
