Funeral services for Fred Huchel, 63 of Parkersburg, who died in the Veterans Hospital at Louisville, KY, were held last Thursday in the E.U.B. church in Parkersburg with Rev. C.L. Finley officiating. Burial was in Parkersburg cemetery. Mr. Huchel was a World War I veteran and a military funeral was held.
Mr. Huchel, a lifelong resident of Parkersburg was the son of Christian and Evelyn Kaericher Huchel.
He leaves his wife, Mary E. Huchel of Parkersburg, three children, Fred Huchel, Jr. of Parkersburg, Eugene Huchel of Farmer City and Mrs. Patricia Wollenschlager of Normal; Alvin E. Greer of Parkersburg, a stepson; seven grandchildren; one brother, Harry Huchel of West Salem and three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Bratsch and Mrs. Flossie Mullinax of Parkersburg and Mrs. Lulu Jones of Newton.
Fred married first Myrtle Aileen Nicholas April 16, 1922, she died in 1942 then he married Mary Ellen Barche Fore in August 1945.
Fred was the tenth of eleven children.
