OBITUARY, The Correctionville News, 19 January 1939, page 1:

Clarence E. Coon was born near Correctionville December 23, 1878, and departed this life January 14, 1939, in a Sioux City hospital after an illness of three months, having arrived at the age of 60 years and 22 days. When a small boy he moved with his parents to Missouri, returning to Iowa in 1900. As a young man he spent several years in California, returning to spend the remainder of his life in Woodbury County. He leaves to mourn his departure six sisters and three brothers: Mrs. William Queener of Kansas City, Missouri; Mrs. William L. Marsh of Los Angeles, California; Miss Verna Coon of Anthon; Mrs. Claud Anderson of Correctionville; Mrs. Earl Coleman of Sioux City; Mrs. Charles Page of Correctionville; W.C. Coon of Correctionville; Fred and Ed Coon of Sioux City; and a host of friends and relatives. Funeral services were held in the Wilson-Hull Funeral Home Monday at 2 o'clock with Rev. G.D. Serrill of Sioux City officiating. Interment was in the Correctionville Cemetery. Pallbearers were nephews: Kenneth and Lowell Coon, Edwin Coleman of Sioux City, Kenneth Page of Green, Lowell and Merril Anderson.
