Waylon was the son of Willie and Bertha Prinz Gebert and his siblings were Herbert, Elnora Melber, Alvina Spaulding, Leroy, Lorine Moore, Mildred Melber and Doris Smith. Waylon was baptized, confirmed and married in the St. John's Church and buried in the St. John's Cemetery. He was a faithful member of the St. John's Church. Waylon farmed, combined for customers and was a carpenter. He died of pneumonia in the Heatherwilde Care Center in Pflugerville, Texas.
