Oscar Kihlstadius 1910-1997

Oscar Alvin Kihlstadius, 86, of Fosston, passed away Saturday, January 4, 1997, at Johnson Rest Home in Fosston.
He was born August 5, 1910, to parents Karl and Ingeborg Sundeen Kihlstadius in Eddy Township, rural Clearbrook, where he grew up and attended District 34 School.
Alvin worked for many years on area farms as a farm laborer. He moved to Clearbrook in the mid-1940's and lived there until the mid-1960's. He lived at Riverside Board and Care in McIntosh, Johnson Rest Home in Erskine, and was currently a resident at Johnson Rest Home in Fosston.
Alvin was baptized and confirmed in Concordia Lutheran Church, rural Clearbrook. He loved to yodel and tell stories to his nieces and nephews.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Edward, Arthur, Gustaf and Melvin; and eight sisters, Hilma Lundin, Ida Hohnson, Mathilda Kihlstadius, Alfreda Deerig, Emilia Nyleon, Ella Steenerson, Olga Johnson and Agda Mcay.
Funeral services were Tuesday, January 7, at the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home in Fosston with Pastor Paul Magelssen officiating.
Interment was at the Concordia Lutheran Cemetery in Eddy Township, rural Clearbrook. Arrangements were by the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston.
